FRESHWORKS RESIDENCY
Percussionist and DJ Gladstone Deluxe teams up with designer and composer Samir Gangwani for a month-long creative residency to unearth new interfaces of experimental musical expression. Fusing various forms of new media, the duo explores rhythmical intricacies of drumming cultures from around the globe.

The team offers a sonic exploration of the gap that exist between the physical and digital world that use accelerometers, gyroscopes and force-reactive Arduino devices as musical instruments to generate totally new soundscapes and rhythms.

Gladstone (Deluxe) Butler is currently Musician-in-Residence at Coda on Centre, a collaborative initiative of the Kelly Strayhorn Theater, and Oxford Development Company. This in-progress performance is part of a KST Freshworks Residency, which provides artists with space, resources and support to explore new ideas and launch new projects.
