Fresh Works Preview
Choreographer Maree ReMalia, video artist and photographer Gigi Gatewood (NY), and dancer Lillian Cho (DC) employ their Fresh Works residency to forge a new collaborative project that blends movement, storytelling, live performance and visuals in ways in that convey a spectrum of experience, illuminate poignant moments, and incite thoughtful humor. Following a story-gathering process with individuals from the cast, community, and beyond, the creative team explores methods of sharing stories not often heard and pairing voices in ways that might initially seem unlikely. The resulting blend of live performance and video seeks to acknowledge the multiplicity of our lived experience and to broaden the range of movement and bodies represented in dance.

Part of KST’s Fresh Works creative residency program, providing artists with space to research, explore and play, as well as production support to develop and present new works in progress.
