Presented by Exhalations Dance Theatre
A Pittsburgh-based dance company always adept at staging a physical and artistic representation of the fluid influences of our culture; Exhalations Dance Theatre (EDT) is thrilled to present Kinetic Emotion. This new production is an embodiment of the ongoing commentary on the inseparability of technology and emotion that continuously impacts our lives. While exploring the progression of our dependence on technology, our resident choreographers will be investigating distinct perspectives on the effects of technology on our emotions, while also highlighting how essential is has become to modern life. Advancements in tech can be considered both positive and negative, but it cannot be denied that it will continue to be a driving force in our future.
Exhalations Dance Theatre was formed to create performing and choreography opportunities for non-professional dancers pursuing other careers who still desire to dance and perform at a professional level. We embody the theory that “real life” should never hinder a true passion for dance. From healthcare professionals, to dance instructors, to out-of-town students studying at Pittsburgh’s local Universities, our members have diverse backgrounds, but all share enormous talent, and a love of dance performance. EDT strives to represent an accurate picture of the dynamic dance community, while providing a creative environment for our dancers and choreographers to grow and share their vision with our audiences.
About Exhalations Dance Theatre
Exhalations Dance Theatre was founded to create performing and choreography opportunities for both professional dancers and for professionals pursuing other careers who still desire to express their art. We embody the theory that life should never hinder a true love of dance. All of our members have trained for many years under different instructors throughout Pennsylvania; this allows us to sincerely represent an accurate, yet diverse, look into the area’s ever-evolving dance community.
