An afternoon of music celebrating the diversity in gospel genres with rap, dance, miming, poetry, singing, and drumming. Launched in 2010 as a partnership between Larry Fielder and the Kelly Strayhorn Theater, A Joyful Noise is a rousing afternoon of music that promotes positive expression and positive energy designed to inspire and activate Pittsburgh audiences, especially local youth.

A Joyful Noise kicks off at 1pm in KST’s lobby with a special pre-show line-dance workshop led by Roland Ford. Main stage performances include inspiring music by Anita Levels and Rev. Deryck Tines, uplifting dance performances led by K- Theatre Dance Complex, and mime by Candace Perdue.
