APPLY TO FRESHWORKS TODAY!

Interested in applying for Freshworks? Join KST Programming Manager Sarah Gilmer for an online info session about the program and the 2025/2026 application process. Sarah will review the application questions and share what panelists look for in responses.  Previous Freshworks artists Arnita Simone (Fall 2024) and Anna King Skeels (Winter/Spring 2024) will join to answer questions about their experiences in the program. Freshworks, KST’s creative residency for emerging artists in the Pittsburgh area, supports interdisciplinary exploration in dance, theater, music, and multimedia. The session will be broadcast on KST’s Facebook and be available for later viewing.

Arnita Simone is a choreographer, and creative director from Pittsburgh. After earning a Psychology degree from Clarion University in 2019, she pursued the arts, holding positions such as teaching artist for Propel Schools, Manager of Residential Programs for Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, and dance instructor for various studios, including KST’s Alloy Studios. Arnita enjoys collaborating with other artists, participating in productions like Diving Within by Andraya Rand-Mathis and Underland X Alice by Kontara Morphis.

Anna King Skeels (they/them/theirs) is a playwright, actor, and big nerd originally from Baltimore, Maryland, and currently living in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania as a recent grad of Point Park University Theatre Arts. With an objective of using theatre as a tool for social justice, they create work with the intent to empower marginalized individuals. Skeels believes that community liberation and healing is possible through theatrical strategy. A psychological movement enthusiast, Skeels is always looking for a chance to make your theatre experience as queer as possible and take every opportunity they can to celebrate fat and trans bodies.
