Returning for a second year, Creative Black Futures is Pittsburgh’s premiere youth gathering and showcase. Representing the diverse mediums that make up modern art, Black and Africana youth from across Allegheny County are invited to perform music, dance, theater, poetry, creative movement, and visual art.
Drawing from a rich and storied cultural history, youth are encouraged to showcase their strengths, to collaborate with one another, and to learn from artists in the city across disciplines and backgrounds. BTAN’s five Creatives in Residence will be joining the celebration as both mentors and co-performers. The lobby will boast visual art installations, as well as artwork and other creative delights for sale. Gallery doors open at 2:30pm, theater doors open at 3:00pm, and the show begins at 3:30pm. They will also have a Post-Show Reception from 5:00pm to 6:00pm in the lobby.
