Step into your Saturday with joy! Dance is a great way to get the mind and body moving, keep the mind sharp, and connect with the community. Join guest instructors Michael Gehrling and Ken Ho from 412Step as they rotate through new and familiar dances that anyone can learn. This inclusive experience is rooted in having fun together.

ABOUT THE TEACHING ARTISTS

412 Step is a Waltzing, 2-Stepping and Line Dancing community founded in the LGBTQ+ family of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Their mission is to provide the LGBTQ+ population of Pittsburgh with dance events that build an active, thriving and inclusive community. “We come together to dance, socialize, and have fun! Don’t worry if you’ve never danced before, everyone is welcome regardless of skill level. Dancing is our primary activity, but the best attribute of 412Step is the community and connections that are made and maintained through our events. We strive to create a low-key and welcoming environment where all dance levels feel comfortable.”

Michael Gehrling has been line dancing since he discovered 412step back in 2019. He’s also a  west coast/modern swing dancer, competing in the World Swing Dance Council’s Intermediate and Sophisticated divisions, and teaching locally with Pittsburgh West Coast Swing. When he’s not on the dance floor, he can be found working as a leadership development consultant and life coach.

Ken Ho has been a member of 412step since 2018 and subsequently fell in love with line dancing and partner dancing. He has taught line dancing to groups locally and regionally.  He has participated in national dance conventions such as Stompede and Dc Out. When not on the dance floor – he trains as an competitive adult figure skater. He continues to compete annually in the masters intermediate novice division as a singles skater and won the silver medal in the national championship competition in 2019.
