The Alloy School: Kids Jazz

5, 6, 7, 8! This youth-focused class is all about dancing to the music! Participants will have fun building technical dance foundations while also exercising musicality and strengthening performance skills. The class challenges participants to deepen their understanding of dance and music through exploring basic vocabulary, form, and individual artistry.


Indira Cunningham is a performing and visual artist native to Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma in May 2020, and moved to Pittsburgh to dance with Confluence Ballet Company. Indira began her dance training at 3 years old in East Point, GA. She has had the opportunity to perform throughout the Southeastern United States, and dance with Ballethnic Dance Company, Orlando Ballet,  Oklahoma City Ballet, Vitacca Ballet II, Dance Canvas, Confluence Ballet Company here in Pittsburgh, and many other films and projects. Indira is excited to be joining the team at the KST Alloy Studios!

Interested in registering for classes or already registered? Meet The Alloy School team at our Open House, including Education Coordinator Simon Phillips, and our talented Teaching Artists. Participants will sample the program through interactive demonstrations that introduce the theme and learning goals of each class offering. Open House attendance is not required for class registration.

Celebrate the 4 week Alloy School journey with our Showcase and Let’s Move! Family Dance Party on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at KST’s Alloy Studios on 5530 Penn Ave. It’s a one-hour public celebration of learning followed by a dance party for all!
