Ready to play as a family? This “Parent & Me” class is for boosting imagination in early education! Hear exciting stories and play fun games to spark creativity while building a range of skills in physicality, artistry, emotion, and literacy. Parent attendance is always complimentary and required for Creative Play participants under age 4.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Taylor Couch is a Teaching Artist and working performer who specializes in creative movement, arts-integrated learning experiences, and Early Childhood Education. With an MA in Drama and Performance Studies from the Queen’s University of Belfast and a Bachelor’s in Education and Developmental Studies from Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Taylor is interested in the impact performance can have on everyday life, especially for the youngest members of our communities.
Leah Lavrinc (July 29 only) is a teaching artist with an appreciation for community based learning. Her passion for teaching and learning derivesfrom her love for experimenting with art supply. She has her degree in Art Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a minor in studio arts focusing her coursework on sculpture and painting. As an artist Leah likes to find ways to repurpose recycled materials by promoting the idea that found objects can be used again. Her dream is to provide a fun, safe learning environment where all ages can create freely. When she isn’t teaching, you can find her watching movies, playing with her cat Moxxie, or exploring the beautiful city of Pittsburgh.

Interested in registering for classes or already registered? Meet The Alloy School team at our Open House, including Education Coordinator Simon Phillips, and our talented Teaching Artists. Participants will sample the program through interactive demonstrations that introduce the theme and learning goals of each class offering. Open House attendance is not required for class registration.

Celebrate the 4 week Alloy School journey with our Showcase and Let’s Move! Family Dance Party on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at KST’s Alloy Studios on 5530 Penn Ave. It’s a one-hour public celebration of learning followed by a dance party for all!
