Have you ever dreamed of being in a play, a movie, or on your favorite TV show? Here’s a chance to grow your acting skills! Learn aspects of theatrical production and discover what it takes to become a star actor or director. Along with focused practice, this class encourages spontaneity with engaging theater activities and improvisational games. Ready? Action!


Tru Verret-Fleming, originally from Connecticut by way of Florida, came to Pittsburgh to pursue a career in theater in 2010. Tru graduated from Point Park University’s Conservatory of Performing Arts with a degree in Theater Arts and has established himself as a multidisciplinary artist, educator, and arts administrator in the Pittsburgh region. Tru is the Program and Events Manager at the New Hazlett Theater, as well as an associate professor of acting at Point Park University where Tru specializes in characterization and storytelling through dynamic physicality and vocalization. Tru can also be found acting and directing theater throughout Pittsburgh and surrounding areas.

Participants will sample the program through interactive demonstrations that introduce the theme and learning goals of each class offering. Open House attendance is not required for class registration.

Celebrate the 4 week Alloy School journey with our Showcase and Let’s Move! Family Dance Party on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at KST’s Alloy Studios on 5530 Penn Ave. It’s a one-hour public celebration of learning followed by a dance party for all!
