Pay What Moves You: $10 – $25
Monthly workshops with Balafon West African Dance Ensemble company members go deep into the techniques and cultural context of West African dance. These sessions feature live music, regional dance forms, and occasional guest artists. Topics include West African djembe, kutiro, and sabar dance families, generally focusing on traditional styles from regions including Guinea and Senegal. It is ideal for dancers ready to deepen their practice, especially those who have been taking Balafon’s community classes and/or have prior dance experience.
