Co- Presentation with The Center for African American Poetry and Poetics at the University of Pittsburgh
Following the interactive workshop lead by Black Poets Speak Out organizing members, there will be a community poetry reading, open to Pittsburgh poets to read poems by black authors. The community reading is open to all and each poet can record one poem during the performance to be added to the blackpoetsspeakout.tumblr archive.
Starting as a Tumblr hashtag video campaign, Black Poets Speak Out unites poets from across the country who refuse to accept the continuous murders of black people. Video responses to these atrocious events us the force of art to transform policy, redefining what is normal.
